Three H&S Green Cards for CASS at UWE
In the last week the CASS team working at the University of the West of England (UWE) has been awarded 3 Health and Safety Green Cards. Two of these cards were awarded by the University’s own Health and Safety representatives and the third was awarded by the lead contractor; ISG.
The citation from ISG’s Green Card says “Excellent supervision and cooperation when meeting sudden changing programme dates. Enable urgent works to commence through adapting on site works with very little notice.”
One citation from UWE says “Safe working in riser. Harnesses worn and well secured” whilst the other citation says “Scaffolders adopting good safe management practices whilst striking ‘lean-to’ scaffold within ground floor area of atrium’.
CASS supervisor Jon Wingren said “With my team, I work really hard to ensure that Health and Safety is always our top priority. We are delighted that this has been recognised not only by ISG but also by UWE’s own Health and safety staff.”
This flagship construction project at the UWE is headed by CASS’s strategic partner ISG. The refurbishment of the campus is due to last until at least the end of 2016 and the CASS teams will be working hard to ensure that more green cards are awarded to them.
