CASS Row 4 24 Charity Challenge

CASS have finally been able to complete the ‘Row for 24 Hours Charity Challenge’ and it was a great success.

The challenge started at 12noon on Monday 10th May and went through to 12noon on Tuesday 11th May with over 40 rowers taking part in 30-minute sessions.  The aim was to row continuously over the 24-hour period so that we could set the record for distance travelled over this time.

This event had been postponed due to the COVID restrictions, but the team continued to raise money for the two great charities we have chosen for this year – InTouch (the Royal Navy Rugby League charity set up to help ex-military personnel through the transition period from being in the services to going onto civilian street).  The other charity is Cystic Fibrosis.

At the time of print the total raised is approximately £3000 but we know there is money to collect which is a great achievement. We were also very grateful to Katrina at Shutter Hire Photography and Videography who donated her time free of charge to take photos and videos of the event.

“This was a first for us a company and it was a lot of fun, exhausting alongside a few aches and pains, but it was all worth it.  We wanted to support a charity for 2021 and these two charities mean a lot to me and I know everyone has been so generous with donating their time and donating their money so we can thank everyone enough.  We managed to set the target of rowing just over 197 miles so this is something that we will aim to improve on next year” said Tom Gent, CASS Managing Director.
