Investing in future generations
In 2016 CASS made the decision to offer scaffolding apprenticeships to young people in the local area. CASS held a week induction for a group of ten young men and these were put through their paces and at the end of the week three were selected to go forward on the apprenticeship. After two years training working with the CITB the three successfully achieved their ambition to start on their scaffolding journey.
In 2019 we embarked on the next search for another intake of apprentices and during 2020 CASS were fortunate to employ six new apprentices regardless of being in lockdown due the COVID pandemic. All six have successfully completed and are now established in scaffolding gangs.
Three new apprentices have started their training in July 2023, and have completed their first two weeks with Simian Risk in Weston Construction College.
