Row, Ride, Run/Walk
CASS, now part of the V3 Group, proudly took part in V3’s recent charity challenge to raise funds for Velindre Cancer Centre and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital. Team CASS joined employees and supporters in a fitness challenge, choosing to Row, Ride, or Run for 20 minutes each, with some going the extra mile by completing all three activities within an hour.
The event saw remarkable participation from CASS and the wider V3 Group, demonstrating the company’s commitment to supporting important causes. Donations were easily collected via justgiving, allowing those unable to participate in the challenge to still contribute to the cause.
“It’s inspiring to see Team CASS come together for such a worthy cause. The support from everyone involved, and the generosity shown by their team, is a testament to the strong community spirit we value at V3. We’re proud to have contributed to raising funds for the all important charities.”

Against all odds
Ian Bruford, Contracts Manager, triumphantly completed a local marathon recently. What makes this achievement even more impressive is the fact that Ian has endured a hip and 2 ankle operations in recent years. Ian dedicated his efforts to fundraising for LLamau, helping to combat homelessness.
“Crossing that finish line was an emotional moment. After everything I’ve been through, I wasn’t sure if I’d ever be able to take on a challenge like this again. But knowing I was running for such an important cause kept me pushing forward. Every step was worth it to support Llamau and the incredible work they do.”

Row For 24
Row for change
CASS has held an annual ‘Row424Hrs’ Challenge from 2020-2024.
Different charities are selected each year to raise much-needed funds. In 2020 Cystic Fibrosis and InTouch, an RNRL charity that supports veterans, were chosen. In 2021 it was Velindre Cancer Hospital in support of one of our drivers , Alfie who was diagnosed with throat cancer late in 2020. Alfie was well enough to do the last five minutes of the challenge with the support of his family watching him. The charity of choice for 2023 was Action for Children, and in 2024 we chose to raise money for the homeless charity, Llamau.
“The Row424Hrs challenge is always a powerful reminder of how much we can achieve when we come together for a cause. Every year, we’ve seen how much of an impact these charities make, and I’m proud to be part of such a dedicated team. Knowing that we’re making a difference, whether it’s for children, cancer patients, veterans, or the homeless, makes it all worthwhile.”

Sleep On It!
Swapping comfort for compassion
In October 2024, CASS joined V3 Group in the Sleep on It event, an incredible initiative aimed at supporting Llamau, a charity dedicated to ending homelessness. Spending the night outdoors was a powerful experience, helping us reflect on the challenges faced by those without stable housing. We’re thrilled to share that the event was a huge success, raising an impressive £16,518 for this important cause.
“It was a humbling experience. One night outside doesn’t come close to the reality many people face, but it really opened our eyes to the struggles of homelessness. The support and generosity shown were incredible, and we’re proud to have been part of something that makes a real difference.”

Pen y Fan
Braving the elements for a brighter future
CASS raised an impressive £1,145 on October 23 when some of the team tackled the summit of Pen-y-Fan to raise money for the chosen charity Action for Children.
Despite challenging weather , the team made it to the top in one piece with smiles on their faces and pride in their hearts knowing they’d raised money for very worthy cause.
“The wind made it even tougher, but we kept each other going. Reaching the summit was an incredible feeling, knowing that every step helped support children and families in need. It was absolutely worth it!”

Muddy Assault Course
Getting down and dirty for Llamau
In April 2024, three members of the team—Katrina, Jack, and Clair—got down and dirty in the name of charity, tackling obstacles in the muddy terrain of the Usk Valley.
The brave trio emerged from the challenge exhausted and filthy but extremely proud to have contributed to the ever-growing pot of donations raised for Llamau.
Llamau is the leading homelessness charity in Wales, supporting the most vulnerable young people and women.
“It was tougher than we expected, but the energy, teamwork, and knowing we were raising money for such an important cause kept us going! We might have been covered in mud, but we were smiling all the way to the finish line.”

InTouch
Transitioning from military life
InTouch was established as a charitable organisation in 2020 by a group of former players, with support from the former Royal Navy Rugby League (RNRL) Chairman. Its mission is to assist ex-players in transitioning from military service to civilian life, helping them secure meaningful employment and providing mentorship through any unforeseen challenges they may face. Tom Gent is also a key member of the team and is passionate about developing the charity to its full potential.
“At InTouch, we understand the unique challenges that come with leaving the service. Our goal is to ensure that every ex-player has the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to successfully transition into civilian life. This charity is about more than just employment – it’s about building a strong network, offering mentorship, and ensuring no one feels alone in their journey.”
