Tree Planting
CASS Scaffolding & Tree Planting: Building a Greener Future
At CASS Scaffolding, we believe that construction and sustainability go hand in hand. That’s why we are proud to support the Green Task Force Wales and Carma in their mission to create positive environmental and social change.
Supporting Veterans Through Nature-Based Therapy
The Green Task Force is a subsidiary of the UK Charity PATT Foundation, established to tackle both environmental challenges and the wellbeing of our veterans. Many former service members struggle with PTSD, stress, and anxiety when transitioning to civilian life. Research has shown that Nature-Based Therapy (NBT)—involving activities such as tree planting—has a significant positive impact on mental health. By participating in these programmes, veterans not only contribute to a greener planet but also find purpose and employment opportunities.
Green Task Force Wales & Our Commitment
In 2021, Green Task Force Wales was launched in response to the Welsh Government’s goal of planting 100,000 hectares of new woodland by 2030 to support carbon emission reduction targets. The initiative ensures tree planting is not just a token effort but a meaningful strategy for both environmental sustainability and veteran rehabilitation.
As part of our commitment to this cause, CASS Scaffolding is actively supporting tree-planting efforts across Wales and the UK. Through our involvement, we aim to:
Help combat climate change by contributing to large-scale reforestation.
Support veterans and blue light service members in their transition to meaningful employment.
Engage local communities by involving schools and contractors in planting initiatives.
“I’ve been watching the great work Green Task Force has been doing and knew it needed to come to Wales. Many sites I work on plant trees, but often without a clear purpose—this is something we want to change. By involving veterans, children, and main contractors, we’re not just planting trees; we’re building futures.”
